WFW -Veteran's Day, laughter, THANKSGIVING

I would like to say thank you to our veterans who through the mercy and grace of God have helped our country to become and continue to be a FREE, CHRISTian nation where we are known as the land of the free because of the brave! You are true American heroes and we love you!

A special shout out to my DADDY whom I love and adore. You are my hero and always have been. Thank you for serving our great country in the Vietnam war. Thank You, Lord for bringing him home to become my Daddy!

Thank you to those still serving today. My prayers are with you all! WE love you Sherry and family --prayers for you and yours while you are apart from your soldier man! What a blessing you are!

Thankful today for the blessings of the LORD, the ONE TRUE GOD! For His provision, for HIS protection, for HIS truth that He reveals, for HIS mercy and grace. For good friends and family. FOR JESUS CHRIST who made it possible for me to be reconciled to my GOD!

Thankful heart

I am overwhelmed with thanksgiving at this moment.

I just spent a wonderful weekend with family and friends (all very healthy). We had a great time full of fun, food, fellowship, and football. There was lots of laughter and plenty of love flowing! Fellowship with other believers is an awesome and amazing blessing of GOD!

So it is with a thankful heart I write this small list of thanksgivings in honor of Our GREAT AND MIGHTY GOD!

1. salvation (how sweet it is to trust in JESUS)
2. God's precious Word (how He speaks peace to me through it and uses it to affirm in my heart the things He is teaching me)
3. family --I have an amazing husband whom I love and adore. Sure he can be annoying and overbearing sometimes but the same things that drive me crazy make me crazy about him as well! He makes me laugh and he still makes my heart skip a beat! He is a wonderful father to our precious kiddos and He sacrifices his own comfort for that of his family. He puts us first *unless of course he wants to watch something on t.v. LOL* Then there are my kids! Oh my goodness how blessed I am to be their mom! I couldn't ask for sweeter, more beautiful, intelligent amazing kids. To see the lessons God is teaching them and how He is growing them is such a blessing to me. Watching my sweet baby girl blossom into a young woman is scary but so beautiful and exciting at the same time. I just look at her sometimes and think WOW! She is so sweet and forgiving. Perfect? NO but being perfected! And Seth seeing him become the young man God intends is so sweet and special to me as his mommy! He is my baby boy. His desire to know God more is encouraging...he just wants to do the right thing, ya know? **thinking back on my childhood I didn't just want to do the right thing, i didn't ask the questions I wasn't seeking GOD oh what a difference God has made in our lives** I am so thankful for the day He CHOSE me! He changed the course of our lives FOREVER! Oh how good GOD is!!! So very good!!!
I have wonderful parents, in-laws --we all get along and love each other in spite of our differences we choose to love each other. Do we have our issues? Of course we do...but praise GOD for the most part we look past those things and try to focus on the pure things, the just things! :)
4. AMERICA --a free country, land of the FREE and home of the brave --thankful as well to those BRAVE soldiers that paid with their lives and still are for our freedom. I so enjoy America and all it has to offer! Remembering also without GOD America would be much different! We ARE a CHRISTian nation!!No matter what a FEW might try to tell us.

5. Friends --I have the best friends in the world. THey love me and support me --encouraging me and most importantly telling me just what I need to hear at just the right time --as the LORD leads them. Godly women that LOVE the Lord and live their lives walking the walk!! Thank you friends!

6. Health --i tend to take my health and that of my family for granted. But today I am reminded how truly blessed we are to be so healthy. Seeing so many that are in need of a touch from God tonight --babies with heart issues, women with breast cancer, young teenagers hospitalized as a result of car accidents, and these are just a few I know of at this point. Sickness and heartache is all around us/me.

Thankful today we are healthy...reminded today to use my health responsibly and to be about God's business while I have the opportunity to serve Him. Take advantage of the time I have with the people I love and to show them daily how much I love and appreciate them.

So you ask, Kathy, what are you getting at...what on earth is the point?

I'm glad you asked!

The point is YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! (I know ladies that is very DIFFICULT for us to hear b/c when we do our minds immediately go to the not so beautiful parts of us) Truth is each one of us no matter who we are (super model or not) we have flaws and we are our hardest critic!

God has given me the special opportunity to minister to girls at the local detention center. Several weeks ago I heard the song More Beautiful You by Johny Diaz for the first time (no I had heard it before but I HEARD it) And God sweetly and lovingly bore this beautiful message in my heart for the girls at the det ctr!

Please take a moment o read the lyrics first and then go on to see how God used the lyrics and scripture to work out a lesson tailor made for them, myself and prayerfully YOU!

Definition of Beautiful: delighting the senses or exciting intellectual or emotional admiration **courtesy of :** (click the link)

Now think about the definition in relation to the things you named above: some I think of are mountains, sunflowers, snow, babies, rainbows. All these examples delight my senses, excite me intellectually and cause emotional admiration within me! I oooo and ahhh and as you can see photograph!

Now read Ecclesiastes 3:11 a. how many things? ALL things are beautiful in HIS time! WOW!

Now lets look at Psalms 139:14-18...YOU are fearfully and wonderfully made! He created YOU for such a time as this (look at Esther 4:14 --it was scary, she didn't know what would happen, it would take FAITH but GOD had a purpose and through her obedience she and her family along with her people were saved) You are where you are not by accident but by design --GOD'S design. You are not an accident. Your life is not up for grabs or a by chance occurrence. Everything that happens happens for a specific reason and purpose. Even those 'bad' things, those difficult things. Those things that will seemingly overcome us (remember Esther even faced death through her obedience and faith in GOD and HIS bigger plan) FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS! Romans 8:28 --my life scripture! God promises that ALL things (not some or not jus the good things) are working together for GOOD to those that LOVE Him and are THE called according to His purpose! It doesn't say that He's working GOOD things...but ALL things for our good! He is in control! He KNOWS! He IS at work! Jeremiah 29:11-13 And no matter how 'bad' you have behaved or how much sin you have committed GOD LOVES YOU. He can and will forgive you. He WANTS to forgive you! He sent His Son, Jesus, for YOU! John 3:16 Romans 5:8
Romans 3:23 Romans 10:9-10 Let's look at John 4:17 The woman at the well. He told her all she had ever done...He KNEW her sin yet He still loved her and offered her HIS GIFT of living water! WOW!

He loves you this way as well! You are so special to Him that He sent HIS ONLY SON to be sacrificed on the cross of calvary to pay the penalty for YOUR sin (and mine) Romans 3:23

He who had NEVER sinned! 2 Corinthians 5:21

So today: take away this truth from this BEAUTIFUL lesson:

1. YOU are beautiful just the way you are.

2. You are here for 'such a time as this' HE has a purpose

3. He created you just the way you are --You are fearfully and wonderfully made

4. You are here by GOD'S design --not by accident!
