Sunflowers...SON showers...SON followers
Just a bud...still growing...developing...becoming what God intends...
Its amazing how God's creation inspires me...
I love to see nature in all its glory...well with the exception of creezy crawly critters but they have their place in the grand scheme of things I would just rather they steer clear of me and I'll do the same.
**just an idea of what it WILL be here...
Recently I planted a garden --10 tomato plants, 1 bell pepper, 2 squash, 1 cucumber and 1 zucchini. As I planted these things I ran accross a sunflower potting kit --it had an itty bitty clay pot, a package of sunflower seeds and some soil. I planted ONE in the pot, some in another pot and had LOTS left over so I planted them in the little area I created in my backyard (where a tree was knocked down and grinded up (due to Katrina))
They poppped out rather quickly to my delight --Sunflowers are my FAVORITE flower! I've always wanted to grow them and never took the chance and did it. I have for years killed most everything I plant --I have recently learned it just takes a bit of patience, basic knowledge and lots of prayers...I am delighted with the results I must say! God has been good to me during this gardening phase (hoping it develops into a habit)
Well in the past couple wks I 've noticed on my sunflower plants little blooms (all green b/c they were closed --they act kind of like a rose --you see the bud and then the bloom) AND This morning (around 10:00) I SAW THE BLOOM! Yippee!
**THIS ONE TAKEN YESTERDAY --THE DAY BEFORE IT OPENED --to show the world its beautiful inner self!!!**
So i got my camera and headed out to photograph --i've documented each new step as its happened or at least tried LOL. To my dismay the battery was dead and i couldn't even get ONE pic! So I charged it and went out again at 5:00 p.m. What I discovered excited me and God used it to speak volumes to me...
it was facing my house (whatever direction that is LOL) well I couldn't take the photo b/c my battery was dead...soooooooooooo I charged the battery and went back this afternoon --GUESS WHAT --this a.m. the flower was open facing my house and this afternoon the flower was facing the sun --which was now to the left of my house--the sunflower followed the SUN as it moved accross the sky --soaking its nutricious sun rays in and being nourished...and as this amazing process continues to take place and nature acts in accordance with God (just as it does every day as He commands it to) pretty soon it will be full in bloom and shortly after that it will be shedding its seeds so that other sunflowers will grow in its place...
**PEEKING THROUGH!!!!**
This truth has ministered to my heart today speaking in that still small voice --that familiar voice...the one only His sheep hear! I have heard today...I am being nourished today as I look to my Father, my Creator! As I follow HIM, keeping my eyes and my thoughts stayed on Him...He will direct my path...provide for my needs --that may happen naturally or He may use someone else to 'water and bring needed nourishment' to me but either way it comes from Him. He is the One orchestrating each happening, each momen that draws me back to Him, each moment that makes me want to draw up and hide He is in control.
I also noticed ants and other bugs on my sunflowers...eating away its leaves and its beauty but just as God is faithful I made sure to take care of that as well...in its own strenght the sunflower couldn't take care of those ants and bugs biting away at its very existence but I can --I put some bug killer on it and you know within minutes those bugs were gone...by one swift movement on my part I took care of that problem...the bugs may come back but I'll be there to shield and protect my precious sunflowers...
And God is that way as well --He is watching over each problem (lets call them opportunities) as it comes...knowing we cannot handle it on our own He YEARNS to draw us closer, He wants us to look to Him to lead, guide and direct us. Navigating us through the circumstances and into victory! With one swift movement or many God WILL take care of these 'opportunities' that arise and eat away at our faith, our beauty, our confidence, our hope and our relationships...
So today I encourage you to look to HIM --the author and finisher of our faith --our Creator, the ONE that is in control and cast your cares upon HIM b/c He cares for you! He is in control and HE's working all things together for good to them who are THE called according to HIS purpose!
Are you the called? Are you looking to Him?
If not you can...Rom 3:23, Rom 6:23, Rom 10:9, 10
**The Grand Finale**
*****But really God isn't finished with this beautiful flower yet...He'll use it to produce more fruit in its place...*****
Fix your gaze, adjust its height...follow Him as He moves across 'your sky' remember He spoke peace to the storm for the disciples and He desires to do the same for you! And He is more than able! He is faithful to complete that work He has begun!!!
I know we each face our own struggles with beauty and how we percieve ourselves but listen BEAUTY is from the outside in and its not what this world thinks of as beauty but what GOD creates in each of us that is true beauty!
He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in each of us...just keep LOOKING UP and following HIM just as that sunflower did...

a bit of catch up --this and that

Ah, hi again friends!
Its been far too long! I miss blogging but have been uninspired really! My creative juices often times need a boost of confidence, so to speak!
And this weekend along with today was just the boost I needed!
I turned 34 on Friday --thank you for the sure to be birthday wishes --
VBS was this week and as some do know I am the director! Now do go getting all like wow, that's a big deal, cause it really isn't. Everything is pretty much organized, letters just get updated, schedules are the same, with the exception of name changes and theme edits and such and I just get together the curriculum and teachers and staff --which really is GOD'S job and He does such a great job that I don't hardly even lift a finger! Its really a blessing...this is my 4th year directing...the 1st yr I did it b/c nobody else was and it was less than a month away...so it was me! 4 yrs later God has really grown me to LOVE the job and take great pleasure in the process! Watching as He orchestrates each part of the whole event --from positions to weather for Saturday blitz day where we go into the neighborhood and invite kids to join us!
and this year VBS was remarkably and phenomenally without a doubt the BEST I've been a part of yet!! 14 children accepted Christ as Savior, ALL positions were filled with a zeal and excitement that I had not seen in years gone by, without my having to pursue people and put them where *I* wanted them --but GOD in His infinite wisdom placed EACH willing worker just where they should go. There was a truly sweet Spirit in our midst...the Spirit of God reigned and manifested Himself in an amazing way!
And then Friday was my bday. I really just lounged around the house all week doing a bit of housework but not really overdoing it at ALL! On Friday my baby girl (who is almost 15) made me an omelet for breakfast and gave me socks (I LOVE LOVE LOVE socks) and sang happy bday to me a couple times with help from the dog. I even got a voicemail from my friend Sam and her kiddos (they sang to me too --but I think they thought it was me --see my msg is tricky --it says Hello, a pause then I say leave a msg --and I think they missed that part LOL) That was great by the way! :) I was blessed to be able to watch my own hubby sacrificially work in VBS this week after rising long before many of us do head out to work to open a new back in a neighboring town all week and spend late hours at VBS to help with 10-12 boys! And without complaining! OH THE JOY! I came to VBS Friday to TWO cookie cakes, flowers, cards, balloons, a huge bag of M&M's and all the kids sang happy bday to me! I was elated! Embarassed a bit and overjoyed at the pouring out of love from my church family! What a gift I have in each of them.
My honey bought me a wonderful necklace ---one I have eyed for quite a while (surpised me) and we went to dinner with my in-laws on Sat and then Sun we had commencement ceremony for VBS and I gave a bit of a 'speech' (i use the term loosely b/c i just shared my heart and the abundant blessings of the week) and as I looked over the audience I saw my sweetie and he was beaming ear to ear --encouraging me as I spoke (i get REALLY nervous speaking in public) He also made sure to tell me how great I had done and that he loved the curriculum and that he was proud of me. If any of you are like me and you really want your hubby's approval you know how great htat is to hear!
Today I spent the day with my lil man at the park --we bought lunch and then went to the park for some as he calls it "mom and son time" He also called it a date! LOL! So sweet!
We had a blast --hearing his belly laughs blessed my socks off! Later on at home he said to me "Mom, I wish we could repeat today, I had so much fun"! Oh my! What a gift we gave each other today!
I tell ya...I can't imagine anyone being more abundantly blessed than I!
I give all glory, honor and praise to our Heavenly Father! He has given me the desires of my heart! He continues to grow me and show me just what He desires for me...

Wednesday's Word...
What are you reflecting?
2 Cor 4:1-18
1. Therefore seeing
we
have
this
ministry,
as
we have received mercy
, we faint
not;
2. But
have renounced
the hidden things
of dishonesty, ![]()
not
walking
in
craftiness,
nor
handling
the word
of God
deceitfully
; but
by manifestation
of the truth
commending
ourselves
to
every
man's
conscience
in the sight
of God.
3. But
if
our
gospel
be
hid
, it is
hid
to
them that are lost
:4. In
whom
the god
of this
world
hath blinded
the minds
of them which believe not,
lest
the
light
of the glorious
gospel
of Christ,
who
is
the image
of God,
should shine
unto them.
5. For
we preach
not
ourselves,
but
Christ
Jesus
the Lord;
and
ourselves
your
servants
for
Jesus'
sake.
6. For God,
who
commanded
the light
to shine
out of
darkness
, hath shined
in
our
hearts,
to
give the light
of the knowledge
of the glory
of God
in
the face
of Jesus
Christ.
7. But
we have
this
treasure
in
earthen
vessels,
that
the excellency
of the power
may be
of God,
and
not
of
us.
8. We are troubled
on
every side,
yet
not
distressed
; we are perplexed
, but
not
in despair
;
9. Persecuted
, but
not
forsaken
; cast down
, but
not
destroyed
;10. Always
bearing about
in
the body
the dying
of the Lord
Jesus,
that
the life
also
of Jesus
might be made manifest
in
our
body.
11. For we
which
live
are
alway
delivered
unto
death
for
Jesus'
sake,
that
the life
also
of Jesus
might be made manifest
in
our
mortal
flesh.
12. So
then
death
worketh
in
us,
but
life
in
you.
13. We
having
the same
spirit
of faith,
according as
it is written
, I believed
, and therefore
have I spoken
; we
also
believe
, and
therefore
speak
;14. Knowing
that
he which raised up
the Lord
Jesus
shall raise up
us
also
by
Jesus,
and
shall present
us with
you.
15. For
all things
are for
your
sakes,
that
the abundant
grace
might
through
the thanksgiving
of many
redound
to
the glory
of God.
16. For which cause
we faint
not;
but
though
our
outward
man
perish
, yet
the inward
man is renewed
day
by
day.
17. For
our
light
affliction,
which
is but for a moment,
worketh
for us
a far
more
exceeding
and
eternal
weight
of glory;
18. While
we
look
not
at
the things which are seen
, but
at the things which are
not
seen
: for
the things which are seen
are temporal;
but
the things which are
not
seen
are eternal.
We may be the only BIBLE others may see...saying I am a CHRISTian is saying I am like CHRIST...do I reflect HIM in the things I do? When I don't do I make it right where I can? Just something to think about as we go about our day to day. We are not perfect but He calls us to strive for that perfection! and to run this race with patience!!! Its a higher calling! We are pilgrims and strangers in this world...this world is NOT our home. Instead of making ourselves at home we should be SET APART --different from the world. Others should CLEARLY see a difference in us!
How do we do this...PRAYER, leaning on HIM (our only hope) and ABIDING in HIM, obeying HIM, seeking HIM with our whole heart, reading His word and hiding it in our hearts so that we won't sin against HIM!

The wonder of God's creation!

I was blessed today to be able to attend my son's 3rd grade field trip! Oh what fun we had!
I got a glimpse into "S" at school with his 'buddies' and let me just say he is such a goof ball! They literally LAUGHED the whole time they were together an
d he is indeed a social butterfly. He didn't stick with ONE friend (like my precious girl does) he was all over the place...with many different friends!
At one point he asked can I go up there with them...to which I replied yes...and off he went...the next time I FOUND him he was crossing the cattle gap (without permission) to get a 'closer' look at the animals OI VAY! This from the same little boy that would
n't get 5 inches from me the last trip we took here (when he was 5 yrs old and in K-5 LOL)
He laughed and giggled about silly things. A smile was pasted on his face the whole time..well almost! LOL! He dropped his feed cup and I was NOT letting him
have mine to drop! LOL! He quickly decided and proclaimed how fun it would be to feed the animals out of his hand! And that he did. One in particular kept eating out of his hand...coverin
g it in spit and icky-ness! LOL!
As we ate lunch at a table with a couple of girls i just giggled at the differences in boys and girls...the girls stuck with their 2 or 3 friends while the boys made their rounds. The girls played hand games while the boys ran ALL AROUND in circles, chasing each other, taking off before the teacher said they could...oh how fun it was.
Then there were the animals...all different in their own wa
ys. Some jumped and ran, some came right up to the 'wagon', some crawled under the wagon in pursuit of food, some ate out of our hands , while some stayed back til' we journeyed on by (that would be the giraffes...we got a FAR away shot of them but they did not come visit), some just stood and stared...some were bright reds, and brown, white, some made pigs of themselves, some just nibbled, but as I watched I thought of our GOD. How He made them all beautiful in His time. How He spoke each one into existence and how He keeps each one alive and well.
He has the whole world in His hands. He is in control.
